V on sirkustaiteilija Viivi Roihan omaelämäkerrallinen fiktio, joka käsittelee päätöstä irtaantua entisestä. Se on mielikuvituspäiväkirja muutoksesta ja sen mukanaan tuomasta aaltoilevasta liikkeestä.

Roihan avoin, herkkä ja fyysisesti vaikuttava esitys tapahtuu lähes tyhjällä näyttämöllä. Ranskalaisen Mika Pussen immersiivinen live-musiikki on olennainen osa esitystä. Kolmas esiintyjä, lyhyt köydenpätkä, kuljettaa sekä esiintyjää että katsojaa halki eri korkeuksien ja tilanteiden, kohti haavoittuvuuden voimaa.

Viivi Roiha on Ranskassa asuva ilma-akrobaatti. Hän on työskennellyt yli kymmenen vuotta eri sirkusryhmissä Suomessa ja kansainvälisesti, luoden samalla omia teoksiaan yhteistyössä kollegoidensa kanssa. V on Viivin ensimmäinen sooloesitys. Se pohjaa pitkäjänteiseen työskentelyyn lyhyeksi leikatulla versiolla hänen elämänmittaisesta partneristaan, katosta lattiaan ylettyvästä vertikaaliköydestä. Köyden lyhyys avaa uusia mahdollisuuksia välineen käytössä lattialla ja tuo lisää vaaraan tuntua ilmassa.

ENGLISH:

"V" is a contemporary circus performance dealing with the decision to break away from what was before. It is a personal diary blurred with imagination, showing moments of one moving onwards, and backwards, on the path of change.

The genuine, sensitive and highly physical performance by Viivi Roiha takes place on an empty stage. Permeable live music by Mika Pusse is an integral part of the performance. The third performer, a short piece of a rope, transports the performer as well as the audience through different heights and inner states, towards the strength of daring to be vulnerable.

Viivi Roiha is an aerial acrobat who has been working for over 10 years with different companies internationally as well as creating her own projects with fellow artists.

"V" is Viivi’s first solo piece. It is developed through physical research with a shorter version of her life-long partner, a vertical rope reaching from ceiling to floor.

The shortness of the rope opens up new possibilities and brings a sense of freedom to the floor work and a feeling of danger for the aerial parts.
